Impact COVID-19 had on Heights Youth Theatre

As 2020 comes to a close we wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued support of Heights Youth Theatre in these difficult times. This season has looked different than any in our 65+ years history and we are grateful to all of our friends and family who joined us, experimented with us, and supported us over this past year.

Looking ahead, we will continue to put our communities' safety first, follow state guidelines while continuing to look for new ways to gather and engage virtually until we can gather again in person.

If you find yourself able to give back this holiday season please consider donating to HYT.  Any amount will help us continue to engage with our community and youth participants.
Thank you and we'll see you at the theater someday soon.

How We Do What We Do

Here's An Insight Into How The Magic Happens

Did you know? To put on a show, it actually costs about $50 per patron per show. Most people don't know that only 18.5% of our revenue comes from ticket sales. Another 11.6% comes from the production fees that parents pay to have their kids participate in their show. Heights Youth Theatre makes up the difference in a variety of ways, and we do a lot of work behind the scenes to make it happen. Last year 43.8% of our income came in the form of grants. We also run several fundraisers throughout the year that account for another 20%. And we offer ads & sponsorship opportunities to local businesses that accounts for 6.8% of our revenue.

The bottom line? Every dollar counts. Our annual budget is approximately $140,000--and that goes to pay for salaries, rent, licensing fees, production expenses, insurance, and everything else we need to keep the lights on. The shows must go on!
