Eugene Sumlin is an actor, singer, choreographer and director based in Cleveland. He served as the director/advisor of the Drama Club at Charles F. Brush High School for 6 year, in which he directed/choreographed shows such as Into the Woods, Once on this Island, The Music Man and A Midsummer’s Night Dream. Eugene also served as a teaching artist with Kulture Kids and a teacher and choreographer at Beachwood Community Theatre. He has worked with children throughout the Greater Cleveland area. Currently, Eugene is a CARE Coordinator for the CARE program at Cleveland Play House and a teaching artist for the Dazzle Award Audition Workshops. As a resident director at Heights Youth Theatre, he has directed, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Godspell, Once Upon A Mattress and the award winning production Little Shop of Horrors. As an actor, Eugene has performed in such theaters as Cleveland Play House, Playhouse Square, Cain Park, Dobama Theatre, Ensemble Theatre, Lakeland Civic Theatre, The Fine Arts Association, Mercury Theatre Company, French Creek Theatre, Porthouse Theatre and Beachwood Community Theatre. He is married with two beautiful children. Eugene is a member of Actor’s Equity.
